Life Update

Good morning and happy Friday, friends!

Wow. If you are following along on Instagram, you probably already know from my hashtags that life has been going at full speed for me lately. So many unbelievably great things have been happening that I have to pinch myself occasionally to make sure it's all real.

To start off, both my husband and I will be starting new jobs in June! We are both so excited for these huge career steps we're taking. It's a mix of utter happiness and slight anxiety that comes with moving forward, especially for Joe. He will be having a total career change that we agree is really best for him. It has been a long time coming and all the prayers and hard work he has put into his future are FINALLY coming to fruition. I couldn't be prouder of him.

Planner: Rifle Paper Co.

For my new job, I am literally moving up - a floor in the same building I currently work in. The perks? I'm getting a pay raise, my own office (*squeal*), AND I'm going on a work trip to Sicily, Italy in October for a week. ITALY, GUYS. I booked my flight and AirBnB yesterday and almost puked from happiness. I've never been to Europe and would appreciate any pointers from those of you have have been to Sicily! I'll be in a little town called Erice and have my own appartamento so that I'm able to cater to my Celiac needs and make my meals. My diet will more than likely consist mainly of prosciutto, aged cheese, and red wine for the week. I'm not mad about it.

In other news, for the first time since we graduated college 6 years ago, Joe and I are NOT moving to a new apartment. Our current apartment is going to under-go some major renovation next month while we are still in it, so things may be a mess for a bit. However, the comfort of knowing we won't have to pack up our life and move it again is worth it by far. I'll be Instagram-ing the progression once everything starts in a week!

For the first time in my life, I am training for a half marathon with my two best girlfriends, my sister-in-law Lindsey and our friend Jessi, who have motivated me in life and fitness for the past 5 years. We are all training together in different states, so we have to try really hard to keep one another accountable. We have over a year to train (the race is October 2017), so plenty of time to get ourselves into half marathon shape! I wouldn't be able to do any of this without my girls and am so grateful to have them. Particularly our friend Jessi, who is both a physical therapist and ultra-marathoner who will whip our butts into shape. I'm blessed to have these girls to inspire me and push me to be my absolute strongest in every single aspect of life.

Lastly, my eldest baby brother is graduating this weekend from high school and I'm going to cry like a little baby. Joe and I are heading up to the Yoop on a midnight drive tonight to celebrate with the whole fam damily. Gosh, I love that boy so much - watching him grow up to be the man he is has been a blessing that I wouldn't trade for anything. Bud, you are a strong, kind, gentle, smart as hell, occasionally funny (but never funnier than me), loving 18 year-old and I couldn't be any prouder to call you my brother. You are going to dominate art school with all that talent you have inside you.
I love you endlessly.

I hope you all made it to the end, but certainly don't blame you if you haven't. It was a long winded update, but SO much is going on that I felt I owed you all an explanation for my absence. Once the dust settles and I get everything in order with my new job next week, I will be posting a bit more. Plus, I have to share my new fancy office with you all once I get all my knick knacks in it!

Have a great weekend, all!
